Description:

Hygrophila polysperma was the most popular aquarium bunch plant in the past. Now Hygrophila polysperma is a federal noxious weed and can not be sold, grown or kept in the United States.   Hygrophila polysperma is a very tropical plant and was only established in Florida and Texas in the United States.  With only 2 states having problems with Hygrophila polysperma and the knowledge and research that it is very tropical it is interesting that it became a federally prohibited aquarium plant instead of being restricted on a state level.
