Common Name:      Nymphaea 'Avalanche'

Avalanche tropical lily is an exceptionally breathtaking flower created by J. Craig Presnell in 2003. Soon after it was developed, it won the 2006 IWGS Best New Water lily of the year and Best New Tropical. The lily is almost white with a light blue edge, which gives it an icy presence set above its large oval emerald green and burgundy mottled leaves. The Avalanche Tropical Water Lily will grow to be about 8 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 6-8 feet. Its foliage tends to remain low and dense right to the water. It’s ideally suited for growing in a pond, water garden or patio water container, and blooms from summer to winter.
